Hey There!

My name is Will and, I started The Myco Market to share my passion for mycology and the outdoors with the world. Follow me on my journey into the magic world of fungi as I work towards my goal of running a full-scale mushroom farm and homestead.

About Me

I’ve always had a deep fascination with the outdoors, but my journey into mushroom foraging and mycology began unexpectedly, with a patch of morels I stumbled upon along the creek path near downtown Boulder, Colorado. A little butter and salt in a skillet was all it took to get me hooked.

That first taste sparked a summer-long obsession of reading, exploring, and learning everything I could about wild mushrooms, from morels and chanterelles to the prized King Bolete. It all started back in 2013, and ever since, I’ve spent every season I can out in the woods, studying and appreciating the incredible world of fungi.

Over time, my curiosity grew into a deeper interest in the science of mycology and mushroom cultivation. I began growing mushrooms in 2019 and have been actively cultivating a variety of species ever since, continuing to learn, experiment, and share that passion with others.

In 2024, I moved back to the Northeast, where I continue exploring local habitats, cultivating mushrooms, and connecting with the vibrant mycology community here.
